Woke very late since everyone got back extremely late the night before. All the roommates just spent the day lounging around and cooking. I eventually left to go get my Irish phone with some of the other Illinois girls. Now I get to rock this bad boy the whole semester. -------->>
Let me tell you...using T9 is like getting back on a bike. Within days I was back to being a pro! After cooking some dinner, all the Illinois girls hung out at the other Illinois girls apartment and watched some tv. Overall a fairly boring day.

Got up and went to school for the International Orientation. The Illinois were great representatives of the states after arriving 30 minutes late to the orientation. We were told we didn't miss much thankfully. After the orientation we went to a reception to join some of the organizations on campus. It felt kinda of like being a freshman on Quad Day all over again, but it was good because we joined two organizations that organize trips all around Ireland throughout the semester. We started to really feel like we were in a European Uni when we got a voucher for one alcoholic drink at this reception.

You definitely won't find this at U of I

During the reception we met a lot of other International students and exchanged some numbers. We left the reception and went and made some dinner. If you were wondering, my cooking skills are okay but instead of actually using anything my parents and grandparents have taught me I simply make a lot of meals that resemble this:
 |
| Buttered noodles and Irish sausage (a really sad take on spaghetti and meatballs) and and a hot cup of tea. |

If it's not this then its a bowl of rice and eggs. At some point I will actually make real meals...hopefully. After Catie, Sarah, Becca, and I all ate our respective dinners we went to Fortesque Lane (the Illinois boys apartment) and hung out before trying a pub called The Barge. The pub was very relaxed and it was a good chance to branch out from all of our Guinness comfort zone.
Cheers,
Jenny
