Saturday 1.25.2014:
Catie, Sarah, Becca and I all woke up very early in order to catch a bus to Cork with Angie, Amy, Erica, Shannon, Wendy, Shawn, and Joel. The three hour bus was pretty uneventful but the landscape of Ireland is just stunning! When we arrived to Cork we figured out a bus up to Blarney Castle. We then just explored the Castle and the grounds. I even got to kiss the Blarney Stone. I know am blessed with the gift of eloquence. We'll see if that eloquence is even remotely used in this blog. I will admit to was expecting something different for the Blarney Stone.
Fun fact: The Blarney Stone is actually a stone used in the wall of the castle instead of a free standing stone.
Below are some pictures from the adventure:

After roaming the Blarney Castle, hungry set in so all of headed into downtown Cork to find food. We looked in this English Market which was very cute. A couple of us girls picked up some chocolates. We then went to find this Chipper (a small shop where you can buy Fish and Chips) that was recommended by some people we ran into at Blarney. We found the place but it was too small to hold all 11 of us so we got it to go and went and ate it at a pub across the street. It was nice to relax in the pub since all of us were exhausted from the day. After a couple of hours we decided we had over stayed our welcome and headed to the hostel. Everyone except my apartment mates decided to stay for another day so they stayed at a hostel. My apartment had planned a day trip on Sunday to go to the Wicklow Mountains so we we didn't stay the night. After checking in the other people we went to another pub. This one was had an older crowd of people so we didn't stay long. The last pub for the night was great, there was live music and a very relaxed atmosphere. Since my roommates and I had to be back in Dublin the next day we scheduled a bus back at 1am so we had to walk around Cork until it was time to leave. Eventually we decided it was too cold to keep walking around so we settled on hanging out at the local McDonalds until it was time to leave. Yes, we realized that this was a very American move....and you know what, we were completely okay with that. The bus back to Dublin was miserable. It was freezing and none of us could get sleep. When we arrived at 4am we quickly walked home to try and catch a little bit of sleep. Although Cork was fun, I am definitely glad I live in Dublin. Cork had a older crowd and wasn't as busy. I will admit it was funny to see all the 40 year old women trying to dress like 20 year olds.

Fun Fact: Cork is the second biggest city in Ireland.
