After about 2 hours of sleep, Becca, Sarah, Catie and I all woke up and got ready for our day trip to Wicklow and Glendalough (pronounced Glen-da-lock). Our first stop was Powerscourt House and Gardens. It was a stunning place. Apparently part of Count de Monte Cristo was filmed there. I'll let the pictures speak for the experience in the gardens.

After this we went up to the famous road where P.S. I Love You was filmed. Although the purple flowers weren't in bloom it was still a pretty view. It was extremely cold though. I could only be in the cold for 10 minutes before I had to head back on to the bus. After this we went and saw some old monasteries in the valley. Then we went to see Avoca Mill which is the oldest weaving mill in Ireland. It was a bit of a rushed tour but it as still interesting. I found it cool to see how it connect to my IBC project this past semester. We then went to the last stop of the day ah oh was the Wicklow Gaol (Jail). I didn't find this too fun but it was a little interesting. At this point I mostly just wanted to sleep. The day trip finally came to an end and everyone made their way back home. I made some potatoes with eggs, broccoli and cheese for dinner and watched a little bit of friends before skyping my parents. It was really nice to talk to my parents. It was the first time skyping them since I had been there. It was great to see their faces and hear their voices. My heart also melted when Koadie recognized my voice through the computer. I wouldn't say I am home sick but I do miss tons of people back home. Love you all!
Hi Jenny,
ReplyDeleteDear old Dad (DOD) here. The black band on the right of your blog seems to be covering the right hand side of your pictures. Are we losing some of them and/or do you know how we can lose that black band after the "indexing" at the top.
Love,
DOD
Hey Dad, I'll look into some the designing of the blog to see if I can make some adjustments. Sorry that there are current issues.
